Ingredients
  

Classic Basil Pesto:

  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves (packed)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/3 cup pine nuts or walnuts
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 lemon (juice only) optional

Instructions
 

🌿 How to Make Pesto:

  • In a food processor, combine basil, pine nuts, and garlic. Pulse until finely chopped.
  • Add Parmesan cheese and pulse a few more times to combine.
  • With the motor running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until the pesto is smooth.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice (if using).
  • Scrape down the sides and pulse again if needed. Adjust consistency to taste.
  • Use immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Notes

💡 Make it your own by swapping basil for arugula, spinach, or kale. Walnuts or almonds also work well instead of pine nuts.
