Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup 113g unsalted butter, softened (or vegan butter)
  • 1/2 cup 100g granulated sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • 1/4 cup 50g packed brown sugar (or maple syrup)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or almond extract
  • 1 large egg or flax egg: 1 tbsp flaxseed meal + 3 tbsp water
  • 1 1/2 cups 190g all-purpose flour (or gluten-free blend)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

Step 1: Cream Butter & Sugars

  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes).

Step 2: Add Wet Ingredients

  • Mix in the egg and vanilla until fully combined.

Step 3: Combine Dry Ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Slowly incorporate into the wet mixture. Do not overmix.

Step 4: Add Your Variation Ingredients

Step 5: Bake
