Ingredients
  

  • Granulated sugar- We will use the white sugar in the cinnamon sugar mixture as well as in the cream cheese layer.
  • Ground cinnamon
  • Cream cheese
  • Egg
  • Vanilla extract
  • Pillsbury crescent dough sheets
  • Salt

Instructions
 

  • Start by heating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a saucepan, mix water, butter, and a bit of salt. Boil it, then take it off the heat.
  • Add flour to the mixture and stir until a dough forms. Knead the dough until it’s smooth.
  • Roll the dough into a thin sheet, about 1/4-inch thick. Cut it into long, thin strips like churros.
  • Place the churro strips on a parchment-lined baking sheet, making sure they don’t touch.
  • Bake the strips for 20-25 minutes, until they’re golden and crispy.
  • While the crust bakes, make the cheesecake filling. Beat the cream cheese until it’s smooth.
  • Add sugar, eggs, vanilla, and a pinch of salt. Beat until it’s creamy and well mixed.
  • When the crust is done, put it in a springform pan. Pour the cheesecake filling over it, smoothing the top.
  • Bake the churro cheesecake recipe for 45-55 minutes, until it’s almost set. Let it cool completely before removing it from the pan.
  • Chill the homemade churro cheesecake for at least 4 hours, or overnight, before serving.
