- 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter chilled and cubed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in the chilled butter until crumbly.
Beat the egg with vanilla extract, then mix into the flour mixture until just combined.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick; cut into squares or circles.
Place a spoonful of strawberries in the center of each piece, fold over, and seal edges tightly.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
Keyword Experiment by using raspberries or blueberries instead of strawberries. For added flavor, sprinkle lemon zest over the strawberries before filling.
